I’ve been having some good conversations with other writers who publish and sell erotica online.
As a result, I’ve decided to play around with publishing more for free. This will let me have more frequent releases in more places.
When one of my serial stories is finished (or I’ve written enough), I’ll format it into a novel and put it up for sale. My plan is to throw in an exclusive one-shot into the for-sale book so that people who pay money for it get something unique.
For the books I’ve got for sale already, I’ll probably start gradually publishing chapters for free slowly over time. When I get a chance (and before I get to the end), I will update the for sale versions with an additional piece of unique content. (A few authors out there publish all but the last chapter for free but I’m not sure that’s going to work for me and my neurodivergence).
For the upcoming novels that I’m going to publish, I’ll start publishing free chapters in the lead up to it being available. My books generally have 30 to 40 chapters, so at the maximum rate of a chapter a fortnight, it’ll still be more than a year before any book is complete in the online free format.
